Qualcomm unveils 5 new audio products for IoT and Smart Home

Smart home technology is the latest trend for all the manufactures around. Qualcomm is the new edition to this list. Qualcomm’s Voice and Music division has launched new range of audio product related to smart home technology at the developer conference in Shenzhen, China.

Qualcomm has unveiled some of the products like high-end flash chip for wireless speakers and headphones (CSRA68100). Also they have announced a new range of Bluetooth SoCs (QCC3XXXX family) for entry and mid range products. The new announcement also consists for wired connections as well. Qualcomm has unveiled a new developed SoCs for USB Type-C devices called WHS9420 and WHS9410. About the audio department, Qualcomm launched a DDFA class – D amplifier which is to be used for more powerful speaker set ups. A smart audio platform has also be launched which is designed specially to power the existing Snapdragon technology.

The new ultra modern wireless speaker and headphone chip CSRA68100 and entry – level QCC3XXX family supported Bluetooth 5.0. This also ensures the compatibility with the standard devices and upcoming devices as well. All the new smart audio systems support the Qualcomm’s aptX codec. This ensures the same audio.

The other high range CSRA68100 device has a 24 – bit 192 kHz codec support for input and outputs. It ensures to deliver a power under 1 –watt which is great for audio experience. This device can be set up with external amplifiers also. As per Qualcomm, this chip is four times greater than the last year’s chipset in terms of performance. This also supports NFC for pairing options.

The USB type – C offers a great experience over the growth of the USB type – C era. The new WHS9420 and 9410 SoCs are specially designed to cater to headphones and other USB Type-C connected devices that will take audio inputs from smartphones. The WHS9420 is the expensive and high end from these two. It offers noise cancellation and 24 – bit 192 kHz audio output. The other one, WHS9410 is not compatible for noise cancellation but it also supports high end audio files.
